Former Detroit Pistons guard is in legal trouble

 Malik Beasley

Detroit Pistons Guard Malik Beasley is facing gambling allegations and legal troubles in Milwaukee. Beasley is under a lot of fire following these allegations related to gambling on NBA games and prop bets.

2023-24 Season in Milwaukee

Before being signed to the Pistons, Beasley joined the Milwaukee Bucks during the 2023-24 season, where he averaged 11.3 points per game, appeared in 79 games, and had a career high record of 77 starts. According to sources, Beasley is currently facing a civil lawsuit in Milwaukee. In September, a local dentist and celebrity barber filed suit claiming they loaned him $30,000 toward the end of his 2023-24 season with the Bucks. When the former NBA player failed to repay the debt, a judge ordered that his paychecks be garnished.

In January, the Milwaukee County Circuit Court ruled in favor of both business owners and ordered that the portion of Beasley's salary from the Pistons be withheld in order to pay the debts. Delicate Smiles LLC was awarded $34,000, while Cairo Cuts was granted nearly $27,000.

Federal prosecutors have not filed criminal charges against Beasley, his attorney emphasized that being under investigation does not equate to being charged. As for the former Detroit Pistons guard, there had been talks among the Pistons organization regarding Beasley's contract. Sources indicate that the three-year $42 million deal is now on hold due to the ongoing gambling and unresolved debts. Reports also indicate that the organization had to pay $26,826.76 to Cairo Cuts in Milwaukee and $34,389.70 to Delicate Smiles LLC in Silver Spring.
