No comment from LSU or ESPN on Kyren Lacy? Why?
Hello, my name is Crystal Williams, and I am a student sports editor, content creator, and blogger. My goal is to educate and keep you informed on the latest in sports. Today, I will be discussing something that has been circulating all over social media, which has many questioning ESPN and LSU regarding Kyren Lacy.

Kyren Lacy
Kyren Lacy was a college football player who was a wide receiver for Louisiana State University. Lacy has a career record of 163receptionss for 2,360 yards and 27 touchdowns in a total of 64
games. Coaches and former teammates remembered Lacy as a high-energy player with an incredible personality who was a great teammate. Although there have been conversations about him needing to learn how to control his emotions on the field. Other coaches continued to say that he was a "bright star," "full of energy," and "having a love for football." As for his fellow teammates, they described him as "a great person," "Humble and kind," and most importantly, "a true friend." He was loved by friends, family, and teammates.
The incident
On December 17, 2024, Lacy was accused of causing a fatal car crash, resulting in the death of 78-year-old Herman Hall. Lacy faced a charge of negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run, and reckless operation of a vehicle. He was arrested and then released on bail. Nearly 10 months later, once the body and surveillance camera were released to the public, many began to question whether or not this was really Lacy's fault. According to Lacy's attorney, Matthew Ory, when he saw the video, he said that Lacy was behind the crash, and he was more than 200 feet away from the cars that were impacted. "However, he was back in his lane traveling, 92.3 yards back in his line behind Mr. Hall," Ory says. Ory also mentions that the second vehicle was tailgating the truck that had crashed into Hall's vehicle. The vehicle was going about 50 mph, just 0.5 seconds behind ot and 1.5 seconds before the crash. Now, this is where people of social media began to question because of the body game footage. According to Ory, when the bodycam footage was released, it appeared to show a police officer allegedly telling the man, who claimed to be the driver of the second vehicle, to write down specifics regarding Lacy in his statement, which he refused to do.
The Louisiana State Police did release a statement to Fox News Digital in response to Ory's evidence: "Following the crash, LSP conducted a detailed investigation with the assistance of crash reconstruction experts and with all available information at the time. Investigative findings revealed that Mr. Lacy's reckless driving while approaching oncoming traffic led to the events of the crash. The findings were presented to the 17th Judicial District Court, which approved an arrest warrant based on the evidence. Investigations are presumed innocent until proven guilty in the court of law."
Lacys death
In April of this year, Lacy died by suicide from a self-inflicted gunshot wound during a police chase in Houston, Texas.
Reaction from social media
Numerous content creators across social media have reacted to the case; on one hand, many questioned whether Lacy was falsely accused. On the other hand, some chose not to believe the allegations at all.
