Today, I will be talking about how an Indiana Pacers fan is suing the Milwaukee Bucks. Let's get into it!

The Lawsuit against the Milwaukee Bucks

According to sources, two Indiana Pacers fans filed against the Milwaukee Bucks after an incident during the 2024 playoffs that is being scheduled to go to trial. In November, the two fans filed a motion to voluntarily dismiss with a claim of their lawsuit against the former Bucks player Patrick Beverly and former assistant coach Josh Oppenheimer. The Bucks organization filed a motion of its own to dismiss this lawsuit earlier this year. Sources say that the court filings dated back to Dec. 23 show a Marion Superior court judge had denied the Bucks' motion to dismiss this case.

So, what happened?

According to sources, in the complaint that was filed, a woman felt pain when former Bucks guard Beverly threw a ball into the stands and hit them. The moment was caught on camera by TNT, where Beverly threw the ball at the fans twice, just as the Bucks' season came to an end after losing to the Indiana Pacers in May.

The lawsuit was filed in Marion County Superior Court in Indiana. It alleges that Beverly threw the ball so hard at the fans that it broke one of the women's necklaces. In the filing, it also accused former assistant coach Josh Oppenheimer of "verbally attacking them and inciting and provoking the fans" behind the Bucks bench.

Since the incident, Beverly addressed what happened and issued an apology on his podcast. Hehe continued on to mention that the fans had called him something that he had never been called. The attorney who represents the women responded to Beverly's statement and said that his comments hurt his client's reputation, esteem, respect, and goodwill.
